Company Description practice being is an architectural practice founded by Dominic Jerard Kurian in 2020, based in India and engaged with projects across the country. The studio works on residential, institutional, commercial, and interior projects, offering exposure to a diverse range of typologies and scales. Alongside architectural work, practice being explores objects, visualization, and art as part of its ongoing research initiatives.

Role Description This is a full-time, in office Junior Architect role based in Kochi.

The Junior

Architect will support the design and development of residential, institutional, commercial, and interior projects, assisting in concept development, schematic design, and detailed drawings. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing CAD and 3D models, creating presentations, coordinating with consultants, and contributing to design documentation and construction drawings. The role involves participation in design reviews, site visits, and basic project coordination tasks under the guidance of senior team members.

The Junior

Architect will also have opportunities to contribute to visualization, object design, and studio research initiatives where relevant.





Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, including concept development, spatial planning, and preparation of drawings and models.
- Candidates should possess skills in Project Management, such as basic coordination with consultants, tracking timelines, and supporting documentation for project deliverables.
- Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Integration only as they relate to architectural workflows, digital tools, and interoperability between design platforms.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar BIM tools, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite) is highly beneficial.
- Strong design sensibility, attention to detail, and ability to translate concepts into clear visual and technical outputs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work constructively in a studio environment.
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or equivalent) from an accredited institution; internship or 0–2 years of experience in architectural practice is preferred.
- Interest in research, visualization, and interdisciplinary work involving art and objects is an added advantage.
