Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional in Design & Development with expertise in Value Engineering to optimize project design, construction costs, material selection, and execution efficiency. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing design proposals, identifying cost-saving opportunities, coordinating with consultants and project teams, and ensuring that projects meet quality standards, functional requirements, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Design Development & Coordination

- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders for design development.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure design coordination and identify discrepancies.
- Ensure designs align with project specifications, client requirements, statutory regulations, and construction standards.
- Review design revisions and incorporate practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Facilitate coordination between design, planning, procurement, and execution teams.

2. Value Engineering & Cost Optimization
- Identify opportunities to reduce project costs without compromising quality, safety, functionality, or aesthetics.
- Conduct value engineering studies to evaluate alternative materials, construction methods,



and design solutions.
- Analyze BOQs, specifications, and cost estimates to identify potential savings.
- Recommend cost-effective alternatives for structural systems, finishes, MEP services, and other construction components.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility, lifecycle costs, durability, and performance of proposed alternatives.
- Prepare value engineering proposals highlighting cost perks, technical implications, and implementation requirements.

3. Technical Review & Quality Assurance
- Review drawings, design calculations, technical specifications, and material proposals.
- Identify design conflicts, constructability issues, and opportunities for standardization.
- Ensure proposed design changes comply with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants to resolve technical queries and finalize design solutions.
- Review material samples, technical submittals, and alternative product proposals where required.

4. Cost Analysis & Budget Control
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project cost estimates, BOQs, and budget comparisons.
- Monitor the cost impact of design changes and material substitutions.
- Compare vendor quotations and evaluate alternative technical solutions in coordination with procurement.
- Track approved value engineering proposals and monitor actual cost savings.
- Maintain records of cost optimization initiatives, approvals, and revised specifications.
