Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design Manager (senior level) to lead our Design & Engineering team in the design and development of instrumentation valves, fittings, and industrial valve products, including ball valves, needle valves, check valves, and tube compression fittings. The candidate will be responsible for product design, engineering drawings, new product development, team management, and coordination with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Sales departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the Design & Engineering team.
2. Design and develop ball valves, needle valves, check valves, instrumentation valves, tube compression fittings, and related products.
3. Prepare and review 2D engineering drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
4. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
5. Review customer drawings, technical specifications, and product requirements.
6. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Sales teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
7. Manage new product development, design modifications, and engineering changes.
8. Prepare and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), material specifications, and technical documentation.
9. Provide technical support to Production during machining, assembly, inspection, and testing.
10. Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and material utilization.

Conduct design reviews and implement corrective actions for design-related issues.
12. Maintain engineering drawings, revision records, and design documentation.
13. Guide, train, and evaluate design engineers and draftsmen.
14. Ensure timely completion of design activities and project deliverables.
15. Support internal and external audits related to design and engineering documentation.

Educational Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficient SolidWorks, auto cad and design evaluation software.

Required Experience & Skills

- 8–10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in instrumentation valves and fittings or industrial valve manufacturing.
- Robust knowledge of ball valve design, needle valve design, check valve design, and tube compression fitting design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent 2D/3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, engineering tolerances, materials, machining, CNC/VMC processes, assembly, and testing.
- Understanding of design validation, product specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Experience in leading a design team and managing multiple engineering projects.
- Experiences in Oil & Gas Field
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Candidates with experience in instrumentation valves, ball valves, industrial valves, tube fittings, and precision engineering.
- Experience in new product development and customized engineering solutions.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Quality, and other departments.
- Strong focus on product quality, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Willing to Re-Locate – Chennai.
