Key Responsibilities

- Transaction Monitoring & Investigation: Review and investigate automated and manual transaction-monitoring alerts across crypto and fiat transactions by analysing transaction patterns, customer behaviour, counterparty activity, and fund flows to identify suspicious activity and potential financial crime. Investigate red flags, including layering, structuring, unusual transaction patterns, and activity inconsistent with customer profiles. Document findings, close alerts with clear and evidence-based rationale, and escalate suspicious or high-risk cases in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Blockchain Analysis: Use blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, Crystal) to trace crypto transactions, analyse wallet flows, identify exposure to high-risk or sanctioned entities and illicit activities, and correlate on-chain insights with customer and transaction data to support investigations.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Review high-risk customer profiles, SoF/SoW, RFIs, and supporting documents to validate customer explanations, identify discrepancies, and recommend enhanced due diligence, monitoring, or escalation.
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare investigation reports and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate case records, supporting evidence, and clear audit trails. Support FIU-IND reporting and regulatory information requests,



as applicable to the role.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:. Collaborate with KYC, Fraud, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to investigate suspicious activity, recommend risk-based account restrictions and monitoring, and support audits with relevant case records and evidence.
- Case Management & Process Improvement: Manage investigation queues and risk-based alert prioritisation within defined turnaround times. Identify recurring false positives, suspicious patterns, and control gaps, and recommend improvements to monitoring rules, thresholds, and investigation workflows.

Typical Requirements &

Qualifications:

- Compliance Analyst: 1–3 years of relevant experience in AML transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations, fraud risk, or related compliance roles.
- Senior Compliance Analyst: 3–5+ years of relevant experience, with the ability to independently handle complex investigations and recommend appropriate escalations.
- Prior experience in cryptocurrency, Virtual Digital Assets (VDA), fintech, payments, or financial services is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience with transaction-monitoring systems, alert investigation, case documentation, and escalation.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, Crystal, or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of PMLA, applicable FIU-IND requirements, FATF guidelines, and AML/CFT regulations.
- Knowledge of crypto transaction flows, money-laundering typologies, sanctions risks, and suspicious wallet activity.
- Solid analytical, investigative, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and transaction-data analysis; SQL knowledge is an advantage.
- CAMS/ACAMS or equivalent AML certifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
