Harness is building an AI-native commercial insurance brokerage for small businesses across the US.

We’re looking for someone who really understands how a commercial insurance agency runs end to end, especially new business, E&S; submissions, binding and post-bind servicing.

This is not a data-entry or basic policy-processing role.

If most of your experience is updating Applied Epic, indexing documents, processing predefined tasks or doing basic validations from an SOP, this probably isn’t the right role.

What you’ll ownYou’ll work directly with our US producers, insureds, underwriters, carriers and wholesalers across the full lifecycle of an account.

This includes

- Preparing and sending E&S; / wholesale submissions
- Working directly with underwriters and wholesalers on follow-ups, missing information and subjectivities
- Reviewing quotes and policies for coverage accuracy and E&O; issues
- Managing binding subjectivities through completion
- Processing endorsements and policy changes
- Creating and reviewing COIs, including AI, PNC, waiver and other endorsement requirements
- Managing inspections, recommendations and corrective-action follow-ups
- Handling cancellation notices / NOCs and payment failures
- Obtaining and organizing loss runs
- Following up aggressively on outstanding quotes, bind requests and policy documents
- Reviewing issued policies against what was requested and quoted
- Communicating directly with insureds when information, signatures, payments or documents are missing
- Occasionally jumping on calls with US clients directly to answer servicing questions, clarify requirements and help resolve issues
- Keeping producers updated and proactively moving every account forward

The person we wantYou understand the difference between simply processing a request and actually owning an account. If an underwriter asks five questions,



you know how to get the answers and keep the submission moving.

If a customer asks for PNC on a COI, you know you need to establish whether that coverage actually exists before representing it.

If a policy is about to cancel because of an inspection issue or missed payment, you don’t just forward the notice. You stay on it until the issue is resolved.

If an E&S; underwriter goes quiet, you follow up, call, escalate and keep the producer informed.

You should also be comfortable speaking directly with US clients when needed. You won’t be the primary salesperson, but you should be able to confidently answer operational questions, explain what is needed and move the account forward.

You should have strong hands-on experience with

- US Commercial P&C;
- New business submissions
- Excess & Surplus / non-admitted markets
- Wholesalers and MGAs
- ACORD applications and supplemental applications
- GL, Property, Commercial Auto, WC, Umbrella and related commercial coverages
- COIs and endorsements
- Additional Insured / PNC / Waiver requirements
- Loss runs
- Inspections
- Binding and subjectivities
- Policy checking
- Cancellations / NOCs
- Premium/payment follow-up

Experience with Applied Epic, AMS360, EZLynx, HawkSoft or similar systems is practical, but knowing how to click through an AMS is not what we are hiring for.

We care much more about whether you understand why the work is being done, what can go wrong, and what needs to happen next.

Software that you use today may work differently next week.

There will not always be a perfect SOP telling you exactly what to do.

Our producers are selling every day, so an account cannot sit untouched because an underwriter hasn’t replied, a system is broken or a process is unclear.

You’ll be expected to

- Own outcomes, not tickets
- Prioritize urgent binds and revenue
- Follow up aggressively
- Catch mistakes before they reach customers
- Escalate blockers early
- Find a safe workaround when the obvious process breaks
- Communicate clearly with producers, underwriters and clients
- Work independently in ambiguity
- Use ChatGPT, Claude and Harness’s internal AI tools heavily
- Work closely with engineering as our systems continuously evolve
- Help us turn manual insurance workflows into better automated systems

Our software will increasingly do the repetitive work. Your value is in insurance judgment, accuracy, prioritization, communication and getting difficult accounts across the finish line. Working hoursThis role works closely with our US team and customers.

Standard working hours are 8 PM to 6 AM IST.
