We’re Hiring | Cloud Engineer – Azure & Microsoft 365

Third Octopus is a technology consulting and managed-services company. We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to support an enterprise Microsoft environment and coordinate day-to-day IT operations at the client site.

This role combines Azure administration, Microsoft 365 support, identity and endpoint management, incident resolution, and operational documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Azure operations: Administer virtual machines and storage, coordinate patching and security-update restarts, manage approved configuration changes, and monitor costs and resource utilisation.
- Microsoft 365 administration: Manage mailboxes, Teams, licence assignments, retention settings, sensitivity labels, and tenant configurations.
- Identity and access: Manage Microsoft Entra ID joiner, mover, and leaver processes, groups, roles, MFA, Conditional Access, and guest access. Support application registration reviews, secret rotation, and removal of unused registrations.
- Endpoint management: Use Microsoft Intune for device compliance, Entra join support, application deployment, stale-device clean-up, and application protection policies.
- SharePoint and OneDrive: Administer sites, permissions, external sharing, and intranet access; troubleshoot user issues.
- Server administration: Support Windows servers and Linux virtual machines, maintain hardening documentation,



and assist with approved server image and UAT workplace activities.
- Monitoring and incidents: Configure Azure metrics, alerts, and action groups; investigate incidents, maintain ticket records, communicate progress, and document root causes for high-priority issues.
- Service coordination: Coordinate user requests and daily IT activities, manage Microsoft and vendor escalations, and work with specialist teams to drive issues to closure.
- Documentation and compliance: Maintain configuration baselines, SOPs, asset and licence registers, and operational reports. Collect evidence for ISO 27001 and reviews.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 in production environments.
- Strong Windows Server administration and troubleshooting skills, with working knowledge of Linux.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, and identity lifecycle management.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, device compliance, and application protection policies.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft 365 access and sharing controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud, server, identity, and endpoint issues systematically.
- Strong documentation, communication, and follow-through with users, vendors, and technical teams.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

- Experience in managed services or enterprise IT operations.
- Exposure to Azure monitoring, Blob Storage lifecycle policies, cost optimisation, and landing zones.
- Experience supporting audit evidence collection and operational compliance checks.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
