About the role

Turn mechanical designs into machines that can be manufactured, assembled and maintained.

Spruce Up is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with solid SolidWorks skills and practical knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication and machine assemblies. You will create 3D models, manufacturing drawings and bills of materials, then work closely with our manufacturing teams to resolve fitment issues and improve designs.

The role combines CAD engineering, prototype development and hands-on manufacturing support.

Our products include Stratus regenerative-air road sweepers, Jatayu garbage suction machines and industrial vacuum equipment. Our R&D; and manufacturing teams work together to develop reliable machines for demanding operating conditions.

What you will do

- Develop mechanical designs: Create parametric SolidWorks parts, sheet-metal components and assemblies with clear design intent. Check interfaces, interference, clearances and maintenance access.
- Prepare manufacturing documentation: Produce accurate 2D drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes and welding notes. Generate flat patterns and DXFs for laser cutting and bending.
- Maintain engineering BOMs: Keep part numbers, quantities and revisions consistent across models, drawings and bills of materials.
- Design for manufacturing and assembly: Consider fabrication methods, bend feasibility, weld access, fasteners,



assembly sequence and available manufacturing capabilities.
- Resolve shop-floor issues: Work with Production, Purchase, Quality and vendors to clarify drawings and address fabrication, fitment and assembly problems.
- Support product development: Contribute to prototypes, improvements to existing machines and new product development in adjacent equipment categories. Incorporate build and test feedback into reviewed design updates.
- Control engineering changes: Self-check work, document revisions and obtain engineering approval before releasing drawings and BOMs.

What you need

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, machine design or manufacturing-focused CAD engineering.
- Hands-on SolidWorks proficiency in part modelling, assemblies, sheet metal and manufacturing drawings.
- Practical understanding of laser cutting, bending, welding, machining and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to prepare manufacturing drawings and BOMs, including appropriate tolerances and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Ability to investigate design and fitment problems and communicate practical solutions.
- Willingness to work on-site with physical machines, prototypes and shop-floor teams.

Useful additional experience

- Industrial machinery, special-purpose machines, cleaning equipment, automotive equipment, earthmoving equipment or comparable fabricated assemblies.
- Onshape, Product Data Management (PDM) or controlled CAD revision workflows.
- Prototype builds, machine-building, robotics or similar hands-on engineering projects.
- Marathi communication for coordination with local fabricators and vendors.
