Company Description MITTI Café is a non-profit organization that creates meaningful employment and experiential training opportunities for adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities. Operating over 40 cafes in locations such as the Supreme Court, major airports, corporates, colleges, and government institutions, the team has served more than 10 million meals and beverages. Through its livelihood model, MITTI Café provides on-the-job training, housing, and stipends to trainees, and runs initiatives like Karuna (Compassion) Meals to support economically vulnerable families with food.

The organization also operates MITTI Good Gifts, a platform for products made by NGOs and social enterprises from marginalized communities, shipping gifts to leading global companies. MITTI has been recognized with numerous national and international awards for its inclusive impact and innovative social model.

Role Description The Cafe Manager will oversee daily operations at a MITTI Café location in Bengaluru in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role includes managing staff schedules, supervising food and beverage preparation, and ensuring adherence to quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

Manager will support team members with disabilities through inclusive leadership, on-the-job guidance, and coordination with training programs.

Responsibilities also include handling customer interactions,



managing cash and inventory, monitoring sales performance, and implementing promotional activities. The role requires close collaboration with the central MITTI team to maintain operational excellence and uphold the organization’s mission and values.

Qualifications

- Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and guest satisfaction.
- Effective Communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including menu understanding, quality standards, and basic food safety.
- Hands-on Food Service experience, such as order management, service coordination, and maintaining a clean, effective cafe environment.
- Basic Sales skills, including promoting offerings, upselling, and understanding daily sales reports.
- Experience managing or supervising teams in hospitality, retail, or similar environments, preferably with exposure to inclusive workplaces.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, with flexibility for shifts, weekends, and peak hours as needed.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills to handle operations, inventory, and guest issues calmly and efficiently.
- Prior experience in cafes, restaurants, or food service outlets is an advantage; a diploma or degree in hospitality or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
