Role Description The Branch Manager role at HDFC Bank Limited is a full-time, in office position based in Indore.

The Branch

Manager is responsible for overseeing daily branch operations, including customer service, cash management, and adherence to banking procedures and compliance requirements. This role involves leading and inspiring the branch team, setting performance goals, and ensuring achievement of sales and business targets across retail banking products.

The role also includes building and nurturing customer relationships, resolving issues promptly, and representing the bank within the local community to support business development.

Qualifications

- Strong leadership and people management abilities, including team supervision, performance coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in branch operations, banking processes, and regulatory compliance, with attention to risk management and audit requirements.
- Demonstrated skills in sales, business development, and customer relationship management within financial services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers and colleagues.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort with financial data, reporting, and decision-making under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in banking are an advantage.
- Prior experience in retail banking or financial services, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Ability to work on-site in Indore, adapt to dynamic business environments, and use core banking and office software efficiently.
