Role Description The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – IPD (In-Patient Department) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar. The role involves overseeing day-to-day IPD operations, including admission and discharge processes, bed management, and coordination between medical, nursing, and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient flow. The individual will monitor service quality, support adherence to clinical and administrative protocols, and help resolve patient and family queries in a qualified manner.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, supporting training and performance monitoring, preparing operational reports, and assisting in implementation of process improvements and hospital policies.



The role also requires close collaboration with finance, billing, and support services to maintain efficiency, compliance, and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

- Strong operational and administrative management skills in a hospital or healthcare setting, particularly within IPD.
- Proficiency in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing patient services, including admissions, discharges, and bed allocation.
- Ability to interpret and apply hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to inpatient care.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills for interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Capability to use hospital information systems and basic office software for reporting, documentation, and data tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Nursing, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Previous experience in IPD management or similar supervisory role in a healthcare facility is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
