Role Description As an Abroad Counselor at Microtec Educational Services, you will provide individualized guidance to students seeking international education opportunities. In this full-time, in office role based in Thrissur, you will meet with students and families, assess academic profiles, and recommend suitable courses, institutions, and countries. Daily responsibilities include explaining application processes, admission requirements, visa procedures, and financial planning options, while maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress.

You will coordinate with universities and partner institutions, conduct informational sessions and workshops, and assist with documentation and application submissions.



The role also involves staying updated on global education trends, building strong relationships with students, and supporting them throughout the entire admission and pre-departure journey.

Qualifications

- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to provide personalized guidance and support to students and families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex processes simply.
- Organizational and administrative abilities, such as maintaining student records, managing multiple applications, and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of international education systems, admission procedures, and student visa processes (experience in overseas education counseling is an advantage).
- Customer service orientation and problem-solving skills, with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships with students.
- Comfort with basic computer applications, online research, and educational portals; ability to learn new digital tools as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Education, Psychology, Management, or related fields are preferred.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, admissions, or career guidance is desirable but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
