Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Semantic Data Architect / Ontologist with strong expertise in enterprise ontology development, RDF-based semantic modeling, and knowledge graph architecture.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing enterprise ontologies, building semantic data models, connecting fragmented enterprise data sources, and implementing W3C semantic web standards to support enterprise search, analytics, and AI-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic knowledge models.
- Build RDF-based semantic data structures using RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL.
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems into connected knowledge graphs.
- Develop and manage controlled vocabularies, metadata models, and taxonomy lifecycle processes.
- Implement SHACL-based data validation and constraints, along with SKOS for knowledge organization.
- Deploy and manage knowledge graphs using Neo4j, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, or Stardog.
- Work with ontology and taxonomy management platforms such as PoolParty and TopBraid EDG.
- Optimize semantic models for enterprise search, analytics, metadata extraction, and AI applications.
- Collaborate with data engineers, AI/ML teams, developers, and business stakeholders.




- Support cloud-based deployments using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- 7+ years of overall IT/data experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically in RDF-based semantic ontology development and modeling.
- Strong expertise in enterprise ontology design, taxonomy development, and semantic metadata management.
- Expert knowledge of RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL.
- Practical experience with SHACL and SKOS.
- Production experience with at least one graph database: Neo4j, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, or Stardog.
- Hands-on experience with at least one ontology/taxonomy management platform, such as PoolParty, TopBraid EDG, or GraphDB (Ontotext).
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with globally distributed teams and overlap with US business hours.
- Maximum notice period of 30 days.

Preferred Skills

- NLP, Named Entity Recognition (NER), and semantic metadata extraction.
- Experience with spaCy or similar NLP tools.
- Experience supporting enterprise search, knowledge discovery, and AI-driven applications.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Library Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
