Department Purpose

Design protected, reliable, manufacturable and maintainable automation equipment that meets customer requirements, cycle time, quality and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand customer requirements and prepare design concepts.
- Develop 3D models, mechanisms and detailed engineering drawings.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, tolerances and design documentation.
- Apply GD&T;, material selection, pneumatics and mechanical design standards.
- Conduct design reviews, DFMEA and verification before release.
- Coordinate with Electrical, PLC, Production, Purchase, Quality and Assembly teams.
- Support machine building, trials, commissioning and as-built modifications.
- Ensure drawings and BOMs are accurate and released as per project schedule.
- Maintain proper revision control, documentation, timesheets, 5S, safety and quality standards.




- Identify design risks, resolve technical issues and reduce design rework.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Production or related engineering discipline

Core Skills

3D CAD, GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, mechanisms, pneumatics, material and component selection, BOM preparation, DFMEA, design review and problem solving.

Key Performance Indicators

Design release adherence, drawing/BOM accuracy, first-pass approval, design rework, cost optimisation, project delivery and technical quality.
