Senior QE Engineer – API Automation (7+ yrs exp)

Location : Hyderabad (Onsite) - Full-time

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior QE Engineer – API Automation to strengthen our quality engineering capabilities through robust API test automation, reliable test frameworks, and integration of automated validation into CI/CD pipelines. The role also calls for practical use of AI-assisted engineering tools and an understanding of emerging AI-driven quality engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated API tests using Playwright API, Rest Assured, or Karate.

· Use WireMock to mock internal and external service dependencies and validate service behaviour across scenarios.

· Perform exploratory, contract, and manual API validation using tools such as Postman and Testfully.

· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.

· Manage test suites and coordinate defect tracking using TestRail, Zephyr, and Jira.

· Perform cross-platform validation using Sauce Labs, LambdaTest, or similar platforms where applicable.

· Where applicable, support integration of SAST, SCA, and DAST checks into API testing pipelines.

· Apply cloud platform knowledge across AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent environments, including deployment workflows, secrets management, database services, and cloud-native infrastructure used in test and production.

· Document automation frameworks and testing practices, and mentor junior engineers.

· Use AI coding assistants to support day-to-day scripting and test generation, and explore AI-enabled approaches to test maintenance, self-healing automation, and intelligent test selection.

Required Technical Skills

· 7+ years of hands-on experience on QE Automation ( Playwright + Typescript )





· Robust hands-on experience with API automation using at least one of: Playwright API, Rest Assured, or Karate.

· Experience with service virtualization or dependency mocking using WireMock.

· Experience with Typescript.

· Working knowledge of API exploration and validation with Postman, Testfully, or comparable tools.

· Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

· Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, and Jira.

· Familiarity with cross-platform testing services such as Sauce Labs or LambdaTest, where relevant.

· Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent) and its test/production environment fundamentals.

· Ability to document frameworks clearly and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

AI & Emerging QE Capabilities

· Hands-on use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex for scripting and test generation.

· Understanding of GenAI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic workflows as applied to quality engineering.

· Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Model Context Protocol (MCP), particularly their potential use in QE tooling and test-data generation.

· Experience with or knowledge of SeaLights or an equivalent AI-driven test optimisation and coverage analytics platform.

Good to Have

· Experience integrating Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) into API pipelines.

· Exposure to AI-driven test optimisation, intelligent test selection, and self-healing test automation.

Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year

Experience:

- Playwright: 4 years (Preferred)
- TypeScript: 4 years (Preferred)
- Test automation: 4 years (Preferred)
