Job Title: Electrician cum Plumber

Qualification

- ITI in Electrician/Wireman/Plumber or equivalent.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Valid Electrical Wireman License (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance.

Job Summary

The Electrician cum Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and smooth functioning of all electrical and plumbing systems within the college campus, including academic blocks, laboratories, administrative offices, library, hostels, canteen, staff quarters, and other campus facilities. The role ensures uninterrupted utility services while maintaining safety and compliance with institutional standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance

- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, switches, sockets, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and distribution boards.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to classrooms, laboratories, offices, seminar halls, library, and hostels.
- Maintain electrical panels, UPS systems, generators, inverters, pumps, and campus lighting.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
- Replace defective electrical equipment and accessories.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance of all electrical installations.
- Maintain emergency lighting and power backup systems.

Plumbing Maintenance

- Install, repair, and maintain water supply pipelines,



drainage systems, sanitary fittings, taps, wash basins, toilets, and flushing systems.
- Maintain overhead tanks, underground sumps, water pumps, motors, and plumbing fixtures.
- Attend to water leakage, pipe bursts, drainage blockages, and other plumbing emergencies.
- Ensure continuous water supply across all campus facilities.
- Monitor water usage and report major leakages or wastage.

Campus Maintenance

- Attend maintenance complaints raised by departments, hostels, and administrative offices within the stipulated time.
- Carry out preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Assist in campus infrastructure projects, renovations, and event-related electrical and plumbing arrangements.
- Coordinate with external contractors for major maintenance works when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts in good working condition.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of maintenance work areas after completion of work.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow electrical safety regulations and institutional maintenance procedures.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety standards and report unsafe conditions immediately.




- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and material consumption.

Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing systems, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues independently.
- Familiarity with electrical testing instruments and plumbing tools.

- Availability to attend emergency maintenance work beyond normal working hours, including weekends or holidays when required.
