The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj, invites applications from qualified, passionate and dedicated educators for the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – History.

We are looking for an enthusiastic History educator with strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom facilitation skills and the ability to bring historical events, societies and civilisations to life through engaging and inquiry-based teaching.

The ideal candidate should encourage students to analyse historical evidence, understand diverse perspectives, evaluate cause-and-effect relationships and develop critical thinking skills. The candidate should be capable of delivering curriculum-aligned instruction and preparing students for senior secondary academic assessments in accordance with the applicable CBSE framework.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the applicable CBSE curriculum and NCERT framework.
- Teach historical events, civilisations, political developments, social structures, cultural movements and historical interpretations, as relevant to the assigned classes.
- Develop students’ historical reasoning, source analysis, chronological understanding and evidence-based argumentation skills.
- Encourage inquiry-based learning through primary and secondary sources, historical documents, maps, timelines and case studies.
- Connect historical developments with contemporary social, political and cultural contexts where appropriate.
- Design lesson plans, worksheets,



assignments, research projects and competency-based assessments.
- Prepare students for CBSE board examinations and other relevant academic assessments, where applicable.
- Assess student performance, maintain academic records and provide constructive feedback.
- Encourage debates, discussions, presentations and collaborative research activities.
- Integrate digital resources, archival material and multimedia tools into classroom teaching.
- Support diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction and appropriate academic interventions.
- Participate in departmental planning, parent interactions, school events and professional development programmes.
- Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect for diverse cultures, perspectives and historical experiences.

Educational Qualifications

- Master’s degree in History from a recognised university, as required under the applicable recruitment norms.
- Bachelor’s degree and B.Ed. qualification, where prescribed under the applicable rules.
- Candidates must meet the relevant CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, NCTE norms and applicable recruitment requirements.

Experience





- Relevant teaching experience in History at the senior secondary level is preferred.
- Experience teaching Classes XI–XII and preparing students for CBSE board examinations will be an advantage.
- Candidates with strong subject knowledge, effective teaching methodologies and a learner-centred approach are encouraged to apply.
