- Set up CNC turning machines (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi controls) per drawings and process sheets, including fixture mounting, tool loading, and work offset setting, to support faster new product introduction.
- Operate CNC turning and turn-mill machines to produce components within specified tolerances, meeting production targets with consistent quality.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; callouts, and process plans to select the correct tooling, cutting parameters, and machining sequence.
- Edit and optimize CNC programs and tool paths at the machine to reduce cycle time, extend tool life, and improve productivity of existing parts.
- Perform first-piece approval and in-process inspection using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges, applying corrections to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Select, preset, and replace cutting inserts, drills, boring bars, and threading tools, tracking tool wear to prevent rejections and unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot machining issues such as chatter, burrs, taper, or surface-finish defects,
and coordinate with programming and quality teams for root-cause correction.
- Carry out daily machine upkeep, including coolant level checks, lubrication, chuck/collet cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance, to keep machines running reliably.
- Follow best manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke) and safety/SOP guidelines, maintaining accurate production, rejection, and tool-life records.
- Support trial runs and prove-outs of new components, giving feedback to engineering and customers’ technical teams to help finalize secure, repeatable processes.
