Role Overview

We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Software Engineer / Lead Design Engineer to drive the development of next-generation railway subsystems. You will be responsible for designing and deploying critical electronic systems for Indian Railways, including CVVRS, Remote Monitoring Systems, and Radio Communication sub-systems.

This role demands a mix of embedded software expertise, networking protocol mastery, and deep familiarity with railway standards (RDSO, IEC, EN). As a lead engineer, you will own the software lifecycle, guide engineering teams, and ensure all systems are robust, scalable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

- System Design & Development: Design and develop software for critical railway technologies, including Camera systems, M-NVR, PoE Switches, Voice over IP (VoIP), Door Control Units, Water Level Indicators, OBCMS, and UHF Radio communication.
- Protocol & Driver Implementation: Write and optimize software drivers for image sensors, networking protocols, and industrial communication buses (CAN, MVB, RS485, and 4G/5G cellular transmission).
- Project & Technical Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and define engineering work packages for rolling stock projects. Drive end-to-end accountability for software deliverables while mentoring multi-functional teams.
- Triage & Troubleshooting: Lead complex debugging and triaging activities. Resolve hardware-software integration issues seamlessly alongside hardware and system engineers.
- Backend Architecture: Build and scale robust backend systems capable of processing and storing data from edge systems to multi-cluster cloud nodes.





Requirements & Qualifications

Education

- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.

Experience

- Minimum 6 years of experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of railway electronics or safety-critical embedded systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Lead Engineer or Project Driver capacity, handling multiple teams and projects simultaneously.

Technical Expertise

- Embedded Networking & Hardware: Deep understanding of Train Communication Networks (TCN/VCU). Hands-on experience with CAN, MVB, RS485, and wireless transmission over 4G/5G networks.
- Video & Image Processing: Proven expertise in writing control applications for image sensors, video processing pipelines, and Video Management Software (VMS).
- Core Fundamentals: A deep understanding of computer architecture and networking infrastructure—ranging from localized desktop environments to distributed cloud nodes.

Standards & Compliance

- Robust working knowledge of current RDSO specifications and testing protocols.
- Demonstrated experience design-testing to comply with national and international railway standards (IS / IEC / EN), specifically:
- IEC 60571 / EN 50155 (Railway applications - Electronic equipment used on rolling stock)
- IEC 61375 (Train Communication Network)
- IEC 61000-4-2, 3, 4, 5 (EMC/EMI immunity testing for ESD, Radiated RF, EFT, and Surge)

Pay: ₹680,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
