Company OverviewWe are a quick-growing MSME Engineering company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge, mission-critical electronic systems for the defense and transport sectors, with a heavy focus on Indian Railways applications. As we scale, we are seeking a highly skilled and independent engineer to champion our hardware lifecycle from concept to field deployment.Role ObjectiveThe Senior Hardware Engineer will independently handle the end-to-end design, development, and validation of complex ruggedized electronic systems. You will lead a lean engineering team, ensuring all products comply strictly with RDSO specifications and international railway standards.
Key Product OwnershipYou will be the primary custodian for the design and manufacturing support of:
- Safety & Communication: Crew Voice and Video Recording (CVVR) systems, UHF Radio Communication, Voice over IP (VoIP), GPS & GSM technologies.
- Train Networking: Train Communication Network (TCN VCU), Train Control Management System (TCMS), MVB, and Radio Signals MVB.
- Monitoring & Automation: On-Board Condition Monitoring Systems (OBCMS), Remote Monitoring Systems, Coach Under-Slung Water Level Indicators, Cameras, M-NVRs, and rugged PoE Switches.
Requirements & Technical Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronic Engineering or higher.
- Experience: Minimum 6+ years of core hardware design and manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years as a Lead Engineer.
Core Technical Skills
- Microcontrollers & Processors: In-depth programming and architecture knowledge of 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, and ARM microcontrollers, DSPs, and Intel motherboards.
- Circuit Design: Expertise in Analog and Digital circuit design (DSP, FPGA), System-on-Module (SoM) architecture,
and control electronics for embedded systems.
- High-Speed Design: Proven experience in High-Speed Board Design, Signal Integrity (SI), FPGA code development/validation, PCIe bus design, simulation, and DC Power circuit design.
- Communication Interfaces: Practical design and debugging experience with CAN, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, RS485, and RS232.
- EDA Tools: Advanced proficiency in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for schematic capture, PCB layout support, hardware bring-up, and bench-top validation.
Standards, Testing & Compliance
- Railway Standards: Thorough working knowledge of Indian Railways RDSO specifications and international train electronic standards, including:
- IEC 60571 / EN 50155 (Electronic equipment used on rolling stock)
- IEC 61375 (Train Communication Network / MVB)
- EMI/EMC: Solid track record of implementing EMI/EMC mitigation solutions and passing validation as per IEC standards.
- Hardware Architecture: Direct exposure to test protocols for industrial/railway grade cameras, M-NVRs, and network switches.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Lifecycle Management: Drive product development independently from initial block diagram to final manufacturing-ready files (Gerbers, BOM, Assembly drawings).
- Compliance Leadership: Architect systems to natively pass harsh environmental, thermal, and electrical tests dictated by RDSO/IS/IEC protocols.
- Triage & Troubleshooting: Act as the technical anchor to debug, root-cause, and resolve complex hardware anomalies working seamlessly with cross-functional software and firmware teams.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers through schematic reviews, simulation checks, and strict validation methodologies.
