- Surveillance & Data Analysis: Collect, tabulate, and analyze daily hospital-acquired infection data (such as catheter-associated or surgical site infections) alongside microbiologists and quality teams. [1, 2, 3]
- Policy & Protocol Development: Create and update infection prevention guidelines based on standards from health authorities like the CDC and WHO. [1, 2]
- Outbreak Investigation: Lead or assist in investigating infection clusters, tracing sources, and implementing containment measures. [1, 2, 3]
- Clinical Rounds & Compliance: Conduct regular unit rounds to monitor hand hygiene, isolation procedures, central line care, equipment disinfection, and safe handling of sharp/needle-stick injuries. [1, 2, 3]
- Staff & Patient Education: Plan and deliver training programs for clinical staff, physicians, and families regarding aseptic techniques and disease
