JOB DESCRIPTION – JUNIOR ELECTRICAL DRAUGHTSMAN

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Draughtsman to support the electrical design team in preparing and updating electrical layouts and technical drawings for interior fit-out, retail, commercial interior, and Food & Beverage (F&B;) projects. The candidate will be responsible for drafting lighting layouts, power layouts, switch and socket layouts, and electrical equipment connection drawings for retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, food courts, and other commercial spaces under the guidance of senior engineers and draftsmen. The role also involves coordinating electrical layouts with interior design and ceiling plans, incorporating engineering inputs and design revisions, maintaining drawing records, and assisting with shop drawings and as-built documentation to ensure accurate and timely project submissions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare electrical layouts for lighting fixtures, power points, switches, sockets, and electrical equipment for retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, food courts, and commercial interior fit-out projects.
- Assist in preparing lighting layouts, including general lighting, decorative lighting, accent lighting, and emergency lighting, based on engineering inputs.
- Draft power layouts for furniture, display units, reception counters, cash counters, service counters, and other interior elements.
- Assist in preparing electrical layouts for commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other appliances, based on approved engineering drawings.
- Prepare and update cable tray layouts, cable routing drawings, conduit layouts, and electrical containment drawings.
- Update electrical drawings based on engineer markups, consultant comments, client feedback, and project revisions.
- Incorporate dimensions, electrical symbols, legends, annotations, circuit references, and drawing details accurately.
- Coordinate electrical layouts with architectural plans, interior design layouts, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), furniture layouts, joinery details, and other MEP drawings.




- Assist in coordinating lighting fixtures, switches, and power outlets with ceiling designs, furniture arrangements, and interior elements.
- Support the identification of drawing discrepancies, space constraints, and basic coordination issues between electrical services, HVAC systems, ceilings, and other building services.
- Assist senior draftsmen and engineers in preparing electrical working drawings, shop drawings, and installation details for site execution.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings based on approved site changes and actual installation information.
- Maintain organized drawing files, revision records, submission details, and technical documentation.
- Follow project drafting standards, drawing conventions, electrical drawing requirements, and documentation procedures.
- Coordinate with senior draftsmen, electrical engineers, interior designers, and site teams to clarify drawing requirements and resolve basic drafting issues.
- Check dimensions, symbols, fixture locations, equipment connections, and annotations before submitting drawings for review.
- Support the electrical design team in preparing drawings for consultant review, approval, and site execution.
- Ensure assigned drawings and revisions are completed within specified project timelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing and modifying electrical layouts and technical drawings.
- Basic understanding of electrical symbols, legends, circuit references, and drawing conventions.
- Familiarity with lighting layouts, power layouts, switch and socket layouts, and electrical equipment arrangements.
- Basic knowledge of cable routing, cable tray layouts, conduit layouts, and electrical containment systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, architectural plans,



reflected ceiling plans, and interior layouts.
- Understanding of electrical coordination with furniture, joinery, ceilings, HVAC, plumbing, and other MEP services.
- Basic knowledge of electrical requirements for retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, food courts, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with shop drawings, as-built drawings, drawing revisions, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination will be an added advantage.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
- Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to learn electrical drafting standards and fit-out coordination practices.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills to work with engineers, draftsmen, interior designers, and site teams.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage assigned tasks, and meet drawing submission deadlines.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in electrical drafting, electrical design documentation, or MEP drafting.
- Freshers with basic AutoCAD knowledge and an interest in electrical drafting may also apply.
- Basic hands-on experience in preparing or modifying electrical layouts will be preferred.
- Familiarity with lighting layouts, power layouts, electrical symbols, cable tray drawings, and equipment connection layouts is desirable.
- Experience in interior fit-out, retail, commercial interiors, restaurants, cafés, or F&B; projects will be preferred.
- Exposure to reflected ceiling plans, furniture layouts, joinery drawings, and electrical coordination for interior spaces will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP, BIM modelling, and MEP coordination will be an added advantage.
- Internship or training experience in electrical drafting, interior fit-out, or construction projects will be preferred.
- Ability to work under the guidance of senior engineers and draftsmen while maintaining drawing accuracy and meeting project deadlines.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
