Indeed Job Title
Conversion UX Strategist – Landing Page Strategy & CRO
We are looking for a strategic thinker who can understand a client’s business, audience, product or service, and campaign objectives, then independently develop a complete landing-page strategy focused on conversions.
This is not a website design or development role. The primary responsibility is research, conversion planning, content structure, messaging strategy, and presenting a clear plan for client approval before design begins.
You should be able to start with a business objective and build the landing-page journey from scratch—without relying on a ready-made layout, predefined section list, or design reference.
What You’ll Do
1. Business & Audience Research
- Understand the client’s business model, products or services, target audience, and campaign objectives.
- Research competitors, customer intent, audience pain points, and reasons prospects may hesitate to convert.
- Identify the key information and value propositions needed to persuade the intended audience.
- Translate business goals into a clear landing-page conversion strategy.
2. Landing-Page Journey Planning
- Plan the complete visitor journey, from the first screen to the final call to action.
- Decide the appropriate section structure and information hierarchy based on the campaign goal.
- Determine what visitors need to understand, believe, and see before taking action.
- Define the messaging flow, CTA placement, trust elements, and supporting information.
- Develop the page structure independently rather than waiting for a predefined layout or section list.
3. Content Strategy & Information Gathering
- Define the purpose and required content of every section.
- Identify missing business information, proof points, case studies, testimonials, and other assets needed to build a persuasive page.
- Prepare focused questions for clients to gather the information required for the strategy.
- Recommend messaging directions that communicate the client’s value clearly and address customer objections.
4. Conversion Strategy & Decision-Making
- Explain the reasoning behind each recommended section and its placement.
- Ensure that the page structure supports the campaign objective and intended conversion action.
- Identify potential friction points that could prevent visitors from enquiring or taking the desired action.
- Recommend relevant trust signals, credibility elements, and calls to action based on audience needs.
- Make strategic decisions independently and justify them using customer intent and conversion principles.
5. Strategy Documentation & Client Approval
- Prepare a structured Google Doc for client review and approval before design begins.
- Document the business context, campaign objective, target audience, and primary conversion goal.
- Outline the recommended page journey and section-by-section structure.
- Explain the purpose, content requirements, and information hierarchy of each section.
- Document messaging direction, CTA strategy, trust elements, and credibility requirements.
- List missing information and questions that need client input.
- Present the reasoning behind the overall page strategy in clear, professional language.
- Incorporate client feedback and finalize the plan for approval.
6. Design Handoff
- Hand over the approved strategy document for page creation using AI design tools.
- Ensure the resulting page follows the approved structure, messaging direction, and conversion objectives.
- Collaborate with the design or delivery team to clarify strategic decisions when needed.
Role Requirements
- Strong research, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving.
- Ability to turn business goals and customer insights into a persuasive page journey.
- Clear writing and content-structuring skills.
- Confidence in explaining and defending strategic recommendations.
- Ability to identify missing information and ask clients the right questions.
- Comfort working independently without ready-made templates or detailed instructions.
Experience
Experience in landing-page strategy, conversion rate optimization (CRO), UX strategy, copywriting, digital marketing strategy, or related work is preferred. Candidates should be able to demonstrate how they approach a business problem and develop a conversion-focused page structure from scratch.
Who Can Apply
- Candidates with experience in UX strategy, CRO, landing-page planning, or conversion-focused copywriting.
- Digital marketing strategists who understand campaign goals, audience intent, and lead generation.
- Strong researchers and writers who can independently structure information and build a persuasive customer journey.
- Candidates who can present strategic recommendations clearly to clients.
Skills
- Business and audience research.
- Landing-page journey planning and information architecture.
- Conversion rate optimization principles.
- Content strategy and messaging hierarchy.
- CTA planning and objection handling.
- Trust-building and credibility strategy.
- Competitor and customer-intent analysis.
- Client communication and presentation.
- Structured documentation using Google Docs.
- Critical thinking, independent decision-making, and explicit written communication.
Important: This role is about deciding what the landing page should communicate, how it should be structured, and why each section matters. Design skills alone are not sufficient; the ability to develop and explain a conversion strategy independently is essential.
