About Us
Shalom Residential Public School is a residential and day school in Chittur, Palakkad. Our students come from Kerala and from across India. We believe the early years shape a child’s whole school journey, so we want our pre-primary section to be warm, safe and full of joyful learning.

About the Role
We are looking for a caring, energetic KG teacher for LKG and UKG. You will help young children take their first steps in reading, writing, numbers and social skills, mostly through play and activity. Some of our children are new to English and to being away from home, so patience and gentleness matter as much as teaching skill.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and run daily lessons using play-way, activity-based and Montessori-style methods
- Teach early literacy (phonics, letter recognition, simple words) and early numeracy
- Use songs, rhymes, stories, art, craft and games to make learning fun
- Develop children’s fine and gross motor skills
- Keep the classroom safe, clean, colourful and child-friendly
- Help children settle in, especially new joiners and those separating from parents for the first time
- Observe each child and keep simple progress records and portfolios




- Share regular updates with parents and take part in PTMs
- Organise class events, celebrations and annual day performances
- Work with ayahs and support staff on children’s care and hygiene

Qualifications

- Pre-Primary / Nursery Teacher Training (NTT, PPTTC, Montessori or equivalent) – mandatory
- Any graduate degree preferred
- [1+] years of experience in a pre-primary or playschool setting preferred. Trained freshers are welcome to apply.

Skills We Value

- Working knowledge of Hindi and/or Malayalam (a strong plus)
