Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Costing with hands-on knowledge of plastic blow moulding and injection moulding processes. The candidate will be responsible for product costing, commercial quotations, material consumption analysis, machine-hour rate calculations, tooling cost evaluation, and cost optimization to improve product profitability.

The ideal candidate should have solid analytical skills, a sound understanding of plastic manufacturing processes, and excellent Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed product costing and commercial quotations for blow-moulded and injection-moulded plastic components.
- Calculate product costs, including raw materials, material yield, cycle time, machine-hour rates, power, labour, rejection, scrap, packaging, tooling, and manufacturing overheads.
- Prepare costing for new products, development projects, customer RFQs, and existing products.
- Review customer drawings, technical specifications, BOMs, and product requirements.
- Calculate material consumption, process loss, runner/sprue consumption, and rejection percentages wherever applicable.
- Evaluate mould and tooling costs, including tooling amortization and recovery.
- Develop and maintain standard costing sheets and product-wise costing databases.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Tool Room, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Sales teams to collect accurate costing inputs.
- Analyze actual versus standard costs and identify cost variances.
- Monitor changes in raw material prices, machine rates, labour costs, electricity charges, tooling, and overheads.
- Support the Sales and Commercial teams in customer quotations and price negotiations.




- Identify and implement cost-reduction and value-engineering opportunities.
- Recommend improvements in material consumption, cycle time, rejection, scrap, and manufacturing overheads.
- Prepare periodic costing MIS, profitability reports, and variance analysis for management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of costing and quotation activities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Graduate, Diploma, or Degree in Costing, Commerce, Finance, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing costing.
- Hands-on experience in plastic blow moulding and injection moulding costing is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of plastic manufacturing processes and production operations.
- Knowledge of plastic raw materials such as HDPE, LDPE, PP, PET, ABS, PC, Nylon, POM, and PVC.
- Strong understanding of material consumption, yield, cycle time, machine-hour rates, mould/tooling costs, labour, power consumption, rejection, scrap, packaging, and manufacturing overheads.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and product specifications.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and costing models.
- Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet costing and quotation deadlines.

- Electrical and electronic plastic components

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
