About the role: Most of your work will be manual testing. You'll also work with the AI testing agents we already use, and pick up Playwright automation as you grow into the role. This role suits someone early in their career who is detail-oriented, curious about how AI is changing software testing, and confident enough to stand behind their findings.
What You'll Do
- Understand product requirements and user stories, and turn them into explicit test scenarios and test cases
- Do functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing on our web application
- Find, reproduce, and log bugs with clear steps, expected vs. actual results, and screenshots or recordings
- Stand behind the bugs you raise: when a developer disputes one, explain its impact with evidence (steps, recordings, logs, requirements, user impact) and work toward a resolution
- Use our existing AI testing agents to run test flows, then review their output and validate the bugs they report
- Give feedback to improve how the agents test, such as missed scenarios, false positives, and better instructions
- Write and maintain basic Playwright test scripts with guidance from senior team members
- Work with developers and product managers to verify fixes and support releases
- Keep test documentation and bug reports up to date in [Jira / ClickUp / your tool]
Must have
- Strong grasp of manual testing fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, test case design, and the bug life cycle
- A sharp eye for detail and a habit of thinking through edge cases
- Good judgment on bug severity and priority, and the ability to explain why a bug matters to users and the business
- Confidence to defend your findings with facts, not opinions, while staying open to being wrong when the evidence shows the behavior is expected
- Basic understanding of how web applications work (browsers, forms, APIs at a high level)
- A power user of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or agent-based testing tools, who uses them daily to work faster and smarter, writes effective prompts, and knows where they fall short.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
Good to have
- Basic knowledge of Playwright, with JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
- Familiarity with browser DevTools (console, network tab)
- Basic API testing with Postman or similar tools
- Experience with Git
- An ISTQB Foundation certification, or academic or personal testing projects
