- Conceptualize & Design: Create 3D computer-aided design (CAD) models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
- Prototyping & Testing: Build and evaluate physical or digital prototypes, running stress, load, fatigue, or simulation tests to verify performance.
- Material & Process Selection: Choose appropriate materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, casting) balancing cost, weight, and strength.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry safety regulations, environmental compliance rules, and quality standards.
- Documentation & Analysis: Maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs), track engineering change orders (ECOs), conduct root-cause failure analyses, and write technical reports.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and supplier teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and easy to assemble
