An Assistant Manager for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems supports the MEP Manager in overseeing the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of building services across construction or facilities management projects.
Core Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Supervision The Assistant Manager coordinates daily MEP activities across mechanical (HVAC, fire protection), electrical (power distribution, lighting), and plumbing (water supply, drainage, sanitation) systems.
They supervise MEP engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring work progresses according to project schedules and specifications. They assist in resource allocation, manpower planning, and equipment deployment to maintain workflow efficiency.
Technical Review and Quality Management They review MEP shop drawings, submittals, and material specifications for compliance with design intent and standards. During construction, they conduct site inspections to verify installation quality, proper coordination between trades, and adherence to approved drawings. They identify clashes or conflicts between MEP systems and structural/architectural elements, coordinating resolutions with relevant teams.
