Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our Data Replication team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our hybrid data pipeline infrastructure, ensuring seamless, high-throughput, and low-latency data movement from a mix of on-premises and cloud sources into our primary Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.

You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of our replication topology, leveraging Oracle GoldenGate to bridge legacy systems with modern cloud data platforms. Job Duties/Essential Functions:

- Infrastructure & Topology Design: Architect, build, and maintain robust data replication topologies using Oracle GoldenGate, spanning on-premises data centers and Google Cloud.
- Cloud Integration: Efficiently stream data into GCP Pub/Sub ensuring data integrity and minimal lag.
- Automation & GitOps: Treat infrastructure as code. Manage configurations and automated deployments using GitHub (including GitHub Actions / CI/CD pipelines), Terraform, and Ansible.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize replication performance, fine-tuning GoldenGate parameters, network throughput, and target ingestion rates.
- Operations & Reliability: Establish robust monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms for replication pipelines. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability.
- Security & Compliance: Implement secure data-in-transit and data-at-rest practices, managing encryption, access controls,



and IAM roles across hybrid environments.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:

- GoldenGate Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Oracle.
- GoldenGate (Classic or Microservices with Microservices Architecture preferred) in high-volume production environments.
- Hybrid Cloud Experience: Proven experience managing data flow between traditional on-premises source systems (e.g., Oracle DB, SQL Server, DB2) and cloud environments.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Robust familiarity with GCP infrastructure and managed data services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Compute Engine).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid experience with Terraform for provisioning cloud resources and automation scripts (Python, Bash, or Go).

Job Family:

- Linux Administration: Deep understanding of Linux OS, networking fundamentals (VPNs, Interconnect, routing), and security protocols.
- Observability: Experience setting up monitoring for replication lag and errors using tools like Dynatrace, Grafana, Datadog, or GCP Cloud Monitoring.

Recommended:

- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate Veridata for data validation.
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification.
- Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.
