Typst Developer / Document Automation Engineer

The position centers on leveraging the Typst typesetting system to engineer high-performance, scalable document generation pipelines that meet rigorous precision standards. This individual will be instrumental in bridging the gap between complex backend logic and elegant, production-ready output, ensuring that automated workflows deliver consistent, professional-grade typography and layout composition for critical business applications.
Responsibilities

- Architect and implement robust document automation frameworks utilizing Typst markup languages and custom scripting capabilities.

- Develop reusable template libraries, including macros, functions, and modular layouts to streamline the creation of diverse document types.

- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to facilitate seamless integration between document generation engines and external systems.

- Manage version control and deployment pipelines using Git, Git Hub, and Azure Dev Ops to ensure code quality and continuous integration.

- Execute advanced page composition and typography techniques to produce high-fidelity PDF outputs and other formatted documents.





- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for complex document processing workflows.

- Utilize tools such as Pandoc or InDesign alongside core programming languages like Python, Java, Java Script, Type Script, or Rust to enhance document transformation capabilities.

RequirementsRequirements:

- Possess 5 to 12 years of professional experience in software development, with a specific focus on document processing or automation technologies.

- Demonstrate deep proficiency in Typst markup and scripting, alongside expertise in at least one major programming language (Python, Java, Java Script, Type Script, or Rust).

- Show robust command over version control systems (Git, Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops) and experience building CI/CD pipelines.

- Have practical experience working with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and integrating these with document generation tools.

- Exhibit a proven track record of creating reusable templates, macros, and complex layouts for automated document production.

- Display advanced skills in PDF generation workflows and high-quality page composition.

- Familiarity with Pandoc or Adobe InDesign is highly desirable for versatile document conversion tasks.

- Ability to work within the IT Services industry environment, adhering to professional standards and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
