Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview:
• Expertise in design for manufacturability and provides guidance and feedback on part designs through design evolution phase.
• Leads industrialization of new parts at suppliers, including review of manufacturing plans, PFMEAs, control plans, process flows,



and validation/qualification plans (e.g., FAIs, PPAPs where applicable).
• Supports in supplier selection and sourcing strategies based on technical capability, and risk; partners with sourcing owners to ensure supplier choices provide long-term value.
• Supports source changes and transitions, including technical due diligence, process transfer, and risk mitigation plans; develops lower-performing suppliers through in office support, corrective action plans, and capability-building initiatives.
• Proactively identifies barriers to quality, and resolves them in collaboration with Fulfilment, Commercial, Quality, and Engineering teams; drives structured problem solving using methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, or similar tools.
• Has manufacturing expertise across multiple related part families and processes, with deep domain expertise in complex component manufacturing (e.g., rotating hardware, structures,
