Role OverviewChandigarh University is looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant Director – CEMD to lead the planning, management and execution of university-level events and media-related activities. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in higher education, excellent leadership capabilities, and expertise in managing large-scale campus events, hospitality, guest relations, logistics and event operations.
Key Responsibilities• Plan, coordinate and execute university events, including cultural festivals, convocations, conferences, seminars, VIP visits and institutional celebrations.
• Lead the end-to-end event lifecycle, from concept development and proposal preparation to execution and post-event evaluation.
• Manage event budgets, approvals, vendor negotiations, procurement and expense settlements.
• Oversee hospitality, protocol, travel and accommodation arrangements for dignitaries, celebrities, performers and other VIP guests.
• Lead and mentor the events team,



ensuring effective delegation, coordination and timely execution.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including Administration, Security, Hospitality, Travel & Logistics, Creative & Branding, and Media.
• Ensure high-quality event production, stage management, technical arrangements, branding, scripting and on-ground operations.
• Establish standard operating procedures, approval mechanisms, event documentation and post-event feedback systems.
• Monitor event performance, budgets, audience engagement and service quality, implementing improvements where required.

Eligibility & Experience• Experience: 12–15+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in university-level event management.
• Education: Master's degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related discipline preferred.
