Role Description This Civil Engineer internship is a hybrid role based in Leh,



with a mix of on-site field work and office-based tasks and some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will support the planning, design, and evaluation of civil infrastructure related to resilient ecosystems, off-grid logistics, and resource extraction systems in challenging terrains. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with civil engineering design calculations, preparing drawings and models, contributing to stormwater management and site planning studies, and helping assess structural and environmental constraints. The role also involves data collection, documentation of field observations, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards. Interns will gain exposure to deep-tech research environments and contribute to pilot projects aligned with VARAHI’s survival and resilience initiatives.
