About Bellatrix Aerospace
Bellatrix Aerospace is a deep-tech space technology company focused on developing innovative propulsion and advanced technologies for the future of space transportation. The company works at the intersection of aerospace engineering, advanced materials, electrochemistry, and high-temperature technologies to build next-generation solutions for space applications.
Role Overview
The role involves hands-on development and operation of electrochemical cells, high-temperature electrolysis processes, material deposition and extraction, electrochemical characterization, and process simulation. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in electrochemistry and be comfortable working across experimental setups, materials, process development, and characterization.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, build, operate, and optimize electrochemical cells and associated experimental setups.
• Work on high-temperature electrolysis and contribute to electrochemical process development.
• Operate electrochemical cells and associated power supplies for material deposition on targeted substrates.
• Perform experiments using potentiostats, galvanostats, and cyclic voltammetry (CV) techniques.
• Conduct electrochemical research to understand and optimize cell performance and reaction mechanisms.
• Develop and optimize electrochemical processes for the extraction and dissolution of metals, alloys, and other materials.
• Apply fundamental principles of electrochemistry to process simulation and modelling to evaluate and validate electrochemical reactions.
• Work with high-temperature materials, ceramics, and refractory materials relevant to electrochemical systems.
• Support post-processing and treatment of developed materials/components to enhance their functional and mechanical properties.
• Conduct or support mechanical, physical, chemical, and thermal characterization of materials.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical unit operations, chemical reaction engine
