Company Description Velammal Educational Trust (VET) was founded in 1986 with the establishment of Velammal Matriculation School in Chennai, beginning with 183 students and 13 staff members. Over the years, the trust has expanded significantly, now serving around 85,000 students and employing approximately 8,000 staff across multiple locations in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Thiruvallur, Madurai, Theni, and Karur. VET works in collaboration with Veeramakali Memorial Welfare Trust and Ramana Educational Trust to manage and grow its group of institutions professionally. Role Description The GM Finance will oversee the financial strategy, planning, and operations of Velammal Educational Trust and its group institutions. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai includes managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting, as well as monitoring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.



The role involves leading finance teams, optimizing resource allocation, and providing financial insights to support leadership in strategic decision-making. The GM Finance will coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies, implement internal controls, and drive process improvements to ensure financial sustainability and accountability across the trust’s institutions.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong financial management and accounting skills, including expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
• Candidates should possess skills in financial reporting and compliance, including knowledge of relevant education sector regulations, taxation, audits, and internal controls.
