Role Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership and governance for Health, Safety, Setting, Occupational Health, Process Safety and Sustainability initiatives at VAML Lanjigarh. The role is responsible for driving a zero-harm culture, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, strengthening risk management practices, and embedding world-class HSE systems across operations to safeguard people, assets, reputation, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Strategy & Governance
• Develop and execute the unit-wide HSE strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Establish robust governance mechanisms to drive HSE excellence across all operational areas.
• Lead the deployment and continuous improvement of HSE management systems and standards.
• Advise senior leadership on critical HSE risks, improvement opportunities, and compliance obligations.

Safety Leadership & Risk Management
• Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, accountability,



and employee engagement.
• Lead identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational, process, and occupational safety risks.
• Ensure implementation of critical risk management controls, permit-to-work systems, and safety assurance processes.
• Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators and define interventions to prevent incidents.

Environmental Management & Sustainability
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and statutory obligations.
• Drive initiatives related to emissions management, waste reduction, resource conservation, water stewardship, and biodiversity protection.
• Lead environmental monitoring, audits, impact assessments, and sustainability programs.
• Support the unit's sustainability and ESG objectives through measurable environmental improvement initiatives.
