The senior architect owns the capability model, ARB review quality and the ServiceNow

Location: Noida & Gurgaon

Role summary

You will be a core member of the central Enterprise Architecture team for a US regional bank as it moves from a federated to a hybrid EA model. You will own the business capability model, raise the quality of Architecture Review Board (ARB) reviews, and lead the build of EA processes and data in ServiceNow. You will work directly with the client's EA lead, domain architects, security, risk and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Business architecture and capability modelling

- Validate the draft capability map with business and technology stakeholders, using BIAN as an external reference.
- Remove duplicates and inconsistencies, and decompose priority domains to L2 sub-capabilities.
- Map the application portfolio to capabilities and produce capability heat maps showing coverage, redundancy and risk.
- Keep the capability model current as new initiatives come through review.

Architecture Review Board and governance

- Review incoming initiatives and vendor solutions against architecture standards, reference architectures and the capability model.
- Refine and roll out the Architectural Significance Assessment and Architecture Review Assessment, including fast-track routing for low-risk requests.
- Design and introduce the Architecture Decision Record (ADR) and decision log.
- Assess vendor responses on hosting, tenancy, data residency, integration and security, and raise risks before contract signature.
- Present recommendations at ARB and support formal voting and decision tracking.

ServiceNow EA implementation

- Lead the design of EA data and workflows in ServiceNow: Enterprise Architecture Workspace (APM), business capabilities, business applications aligned to CSDM, and the ARB intake workflow.
- Work with the client's ServiceNow platform team on configuration,



data quality and reporting.
- Define capability and application scoring and the dashboards used by leadership.

Standards, reference architecture and AI enablement

- Build and maintain reference architectures and technology standards across application, data, integration, cloud and security domains.
- Shape the AI-assisted review approach with the EA lead: define the structured inputs, rules and outputs an agent needs to compare recent intake against the capability map and standards.
- Define EA metrics (review cycle time, risks caught pre-contract, redundancy avoided, capability coverage) and report them quarterly.

Practice and people

- Help define the hybrid operating model and RACI between central EA and domain architects.
- Coach domain architects and the junior EA, and contribute to the architecture community programme.

Required qualifications

- 12+ years in IT, with 5+ years in enterprise, business or solution architecture roles.
- Hands-on experience building and using business capability models, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Experience running or presenting at an architecture review board or similar governance forum.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow APM / Enterprise Architecture Workspace and CSDM, or a comparable EA tool (LeanIX, Ardoq, Bizzdesign) with readiness to work in ServiceNow.
- Solid grasp of modern architecture: cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI), SaaS, integration and APIs, data platforms, identity and security.
- Familiarity with TOGAF and ArchiMate; BIAN experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of US banking regulatory themes such as third-party risk, data residency, privacy, and model and operational risk.
- Excellent written and spoken English; confident with senior US stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

- TOGAF certification; ServiceNow certification (APM or SPM) a plus.
- Experience designing or using AI or LLM-based tooling for architecture or governance work.
- Experience at a US or UK bank or a consultancy serving them.
