Job Description Lab Technician

Department: Laboratory
Location: MV Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram, Chennai
Shift: Rotational Shift, Including Night Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and responsible Lab Technician to join our NABL-accredited laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing samples, performing laboratory tests, maintaining accurate reports, and following laboratory quality and safety procedures.

Educational Qualification

- 12th Standard with DMLT Science subjects.
- DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) or MLT qualification.
- B.Sc. Biochemistry candidates may also be considered, subject to the required laboratory skills and applicable eligibility criteria.
- Freshers or experienced candidates may apply, depending on hospital requirements.

Job Responsibilities

- Collect, receive, label, and process blood and other clinical samples.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations as assigned.
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)



and NABL quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate test records, registers, and documentation.
- Perform internal quality control procedures as instructed.
- Ensure proper sample storage, handling, and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Follow infection control, biosafety, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Report critical or abnormal results promptly to the authorized personnel.
- Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance records, and quality audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, as required.
