Job Description

Jr. CSSD Technician specializing in or supporting Interventional Radiology (IR) is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilising specialised delicate micro-instruments, catheters, guide wires, and imaging-compatible procedural trays required for minimally invasive, image-guided procedures

Key Responsibilities

Decontamination & Cleaning : Safely collect, sort, pre-clean, and decontaminate specialized IR devices, vascular trays, and endovascular tools using washer-disinfectors and ultrasonic cleaners.

Inspection & Functional Testing : Rigorously inspect delicate micro-instruments, sheath introducers, and specialized clamps under magnification for cleanliness, alignment, and structural integrity.

Assembly & Packaging : Assemble intricate procedural kits and wrap instrument trays according to accurate departmental checklists and manufacturer guidelines.

Sterilization Operation : Operate hospital sterilizers (steam autoclaves, EO gas, or hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilizers depending on device sensitivity), running mandatory biological and chemical indicator tests.

Inventory & Traceability : Maintain accurate electronic logbooks, track sterilization cycles,



and ensure timely distribution of sterile stock back to the IR suite and catheterization laboratories.

Infection Control Complia nce : Strictly adhere to hospital infection prevention policies and international standards (such as AAMI or CBSPD/CRCST guidelines).

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Graduate / Diploma from a recognised university

Certification s : Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) credential, or local health council licensing.

Experience : Minimum 1 to 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience, with preferred orientation in surgical or interventional procedural instrumentation.

Core Skills : Strong working knowledge of microbiology, infection control protocols, and the mechanical handling of delicate medical hardware.
