JOB TITLE: STORE ASSISTANT

Position: Store Assistant

Department: Stores / Inventory

Industry: Manufacturing

Reporting To: Store In-Charge / Production Head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in day-to-day store operations for raw materials, consumables, tools, spares, and finished goods in a manufacturing setup.

2. Receive, inspect, and verify materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.

3. Ensure proper storage, identification, labelling, and preservation of materials.

Inventory Management:

1. Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, and registers (manual/system).

2. Update inward and outward entries in software or stock registers on a daily basis.

3. Conduct periodic physical stock verification and report variances, shortages, or excesses to the Store In-Charge.

4. Monitor minimum stock levels and assist in material requisition to avoid production stoppages.

Material Issue & Coordination:

1. Issue materials to production as per approved material requisitions.

2. Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality,



and Accounts departments for smooth material flow.

3. Support FIFO / FEFO practices as applicable.

Documentation & Compliance:

1. Maintain proper documentation for GRN, issue slips, return notes, scrap records, and rejection materials.

2. Assist in statutory and audit requirements related to inventory and stores.

Housekeeping & Safety:

1. Ensure cleanliness, proper stacking, and adherence to 5S and safety norms in the store area.

2. Follow company safety policies and statutory guidelines.

Required Experience & Skills:

1. Experience in manufacturing industry stores operations.

2. Basic knowledge of inventory control and material handling.

3. Familiarity with ERP systems or stock management software is an advantage.

4. Ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions.

5. Valuable coordination and communication skills.

Qualification:

1. HSC / Diploma / Graduate (preferred).

2. 0.5 -1 year of experience in a manufacturing store environment.
