Zscaler ZIA/ZPA Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Zscaler Engineer to assist in designing and deploying Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) within our existing Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) environment. This role is critical in transitioning from traditional VPN solutions to a more secure, cloud-based architecture. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in enterprise networking and security, with a focus on Zscaler technologies.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Zscaler Professional Services to capture user requirements and translate them into actionable design specifications.
- Develop a comprehensive design to meet user requirements, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Configure traffic forwarding using GRE/IPSec tunnels, PAC files, and Zscaler Client Connector.
- Set up ZPA components, including App Connectors, Service Edges, Segment Groups, and Access Policies.
- Enable secure remote access and browser isolation capabilities for end-users.
- Configure security policies for URL filtering, Cloud App Control, and advanced threat protection.
- Deploy Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls and cloud sandbox solutions to enhance security posture.
- Integrate Zscaler with Identity Providers (IdP) such as Azure AD/Entra ID or Okta using SAML, SCIM, and SSO protocols.
- Collaborate with networking teams to ensure seamless integration of firewall infrastructure with the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange.




- Forward logs and events to SIEM/SOAR platforms for real-time threat detection and response.
- Address initial support tickets related to user connectivity, latency, authentication failures, and application access issues.
- Monitor system performance to optimize the end-user experience and ensure high availability.

Mandatory Skills:

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking and security, with at least 3 years specializing in Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Routing & Switching, VPNs, and Next-Gen Firewalls.
- Proficient in PAC file creation and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of Zero Trust, SASE, and SSE framework concepts.
- Experience with Zscaler Proxy is a deal breaker.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with cloud security solutions and architectures.
- Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms and their integration with Zscaler.
- Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and configuration management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in networking and security (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, Zscaler certifications) are a plus.
