Job Description – Proposal Engineer

Position: Proposal Engineer

Location: Ghaziabad

Experience: 0–5 Years

Qualification: B.E./B. Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or related engineering field

1. Key Responsibilities

• Study customer RFQs, specifications, tender documents, P&ID;, drawings and scope of work. Doing engineering calculations, BOM preparation and costing

• Understand customer application and develop appropriate technical solutions.

• Select suitable PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, MCCs, I/O systems, networking equipment, instrumentation and other automation components.

• Prepare system architecture, IO lists, technical datasheets and compliance statements where required.

• Identify deviations, exclusions, assumptions and technical limitations in the proposal.

• Prepare project BOM, costing based on BOM, engineering, panel manufacturing, software, installation, commissioning and other project requirements.

• Obtain and evaluate prices from suppliers, OEMs and principal companies.





• Calculate project margins and prepare final quotation for management approval.

• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions and clarification meetings.

• Respond to customer technical queries and prepare clarification documents.

• Support sales team during negotiations and commercial discussions.

• Visit customer sites when required for understanding applications and preparing proposals.

• Ability to handle multiple RFQs/projects simultaneously.

• Effective coordination with sales, engineering, vendors and principals.
