Role Description The VMC Programmer role is a full time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role involves programming Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) using appropriate software and CNC codes to produce precision components as per drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, creating and optimizing machining programs, selecting tools and cutting parameters, and coordinating with machine operators to ensure smooth production.

The VMC Programmer will monitor jobs during setup and production, troubleshoot programming or machining issues, and adjust programs for accuracy, cycle time reduction, and tool life improvement.



The role also requires close collaboration with the production and quality teams to meet delivery schedules and maintain dimensional and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development to understand and apply logical structures in machining programs.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts to create, modify, and maintain efficient CNC/VMC programs.
- Exposure to Back-End Web Development or similar structured coding environments, demonstrating the ability to work with complex code and technical systems.
- Hands-on experience with VMC/CNC programming (e.g., G-code, Powermill software), tooling selection, and machining parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and manufacturing process documents.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and capability to work safely and accurately on the shop floor.
- Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment in Mumbai or similar industrial hubs will be an advantage.
