Technical Lead - Data Engineer / Analytics

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to manage the technical delivery, architecture, and overall execution of data engineering and analytics projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Azure Data Flows/Data Factory, and Power BI, along with hands-on leadership experience guiding teams through end-to-end project lifecycles from data ingestion and transformation to reporting and visualization.

This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for providing technical direction, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of scalable data solutions including ETL pipelines, data models, and reporting frameworks.
- Provide daily technical direction to Data Engineers and Data Analysts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to translate business requirements into robust, actionable technical solutions.
- Oversee development and maintenance of data pipelines using SQL and Azure Data Flows / Data Factory.
- Support reporting and analytics initiatives using Power BI or other BI tools.
- Review deliverables, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot complex data, integration,



or performance issues and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and deliver results efficiently.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap, define development standards, and drive process improvements across the analytics function.
- Manage bandwidth effectively across multiple projects (approx. 60-70% on core analytics projects and 30-40% on other initiatives).

Requirements Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical fields.
- Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and Azure Data Flows / Data Factory.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring small technical teams.
- Experience handling end-to-end project delivery from requirement gathering to deployment.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot data and integration issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in client-facing interactions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred / Nice to Have

- Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or modern data stack tools (dbt, Synapse, Snowflake, etc.).
- Prior experience in consulting, managed services, or client-facing analytics environments.
- Understanding of automation, scripting, or data quality frameworks.

Education

- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related disciplines.

Compensation

- Salary: Up to 15 LPA (Fixed CTC) depending on experience and skill alignment.
- Additional performance-based incentives may be offered for exceptional candidates.

Location

- Hybrid / Remote, with Bangalore preferred.
