– DRAFTSMAN (MECHANICAL)

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Draftsman with strong expertise in HVAC drafting, ducting layouts, piping systems, and mechanical shop drawings, preferably in the interior fit-out or construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed mechanical drawings to ensure technical accuracy, proper service routing, and installation feasibility. The role also involves coordinating with other MEP disciplines, incorporating design revisions, preparing as-built drawings, supporting site execution, and guiding junior draftsmen to ensure quality and timely delivery of drawings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare detailed HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, piping layouts, and mechanical equipment layouts based on engineering designs and project specifications.
- Develop mechanical shop drawings, working drawings, sections, elevations, and installation details.
- Review duct sizes, pipe routes, equipment locations, access clearances, and service routing based on engineering inputs.
- Coordinate mechanical drawings with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, architectural, structural, and interior design layouts.
- Identify and resolve clashes between ducts, pipes, ceilings, beams, structural elements, and other building services.
- Ensure mechanical drawings are technically accurate and suitable for site installation and execution.
- Incorporate design revisions, consultant comments, site feedback, and approved changes into mechanical drawings.
- Prepare as-built drawings that accurately reflect approved site modifications and final installation conditions.
- Review engineering inputs, specifications,



and equipment details to ensure consistency across mechanical drawings.
- Coordinate with site engineers, HVAC engineers, contractors, and installation teams to clarify drawing requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Verify dimensions, levels, duct sizes, pipe sizes, equipment clearances, and drawing references before submission.
- Support coordination meetings and assist in resolving mechanical service-routing and installation-related issues.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, submission records, and technical documentation.
- Ensure drawings are updated and submitted within project schedules and deadlines.
- Guide junior draftsmen, review their drawings, and ensure compliance with project standards and drafting practices.
- Support BIM-based coordination and clash detection activities where applicable.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing mechanical and HVAC drawings.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination tools will be an added advantage.
- Valuable understanding of HVAC systems, ducting layouts, piping systems, and mechanical equipment arrangements.
- Experience in preparing mechanical shop drawings, working drawings, sections, elevations, and installation details.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical design drawings, engineering specifications, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of duct sizing, pipe routing, equipment clearances, and installation requirements.




- Knowledge of MEP coordination and clash resolution involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and architectural elements.
- Experience preparing as-built drawings and managing drawing revisions.
- Strong technical detailing, dimensional accuracy, and drawing quality control skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with engineers, consultants, contractors, and site teams.
- Ability to guide junior draftsmen and review technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing tasks and meet project deadlines.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting, HVAC drafting, or MEP design coordination, preferably in interior fit-out or construction projects.
- Hands-on experience preparing HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and mechanical shop drawings.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical service coordination, installation requirements, and site execution procedures.
- Experience coordinating mechanical drawings with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and architectural teams.
- Experience in preparing as-built drawings, incorporating revisions, and resolving site-related technical queries.
- Previous experience reviewing drawings and guiding junior draftsmen will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP, BIM modelling, and clash detection will be an added advantage.
- Experience in commercial offices, retail spaces, hospitality, or other commercial fit-out projects will be preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
