About the Job

We are looking for an experienced SQL / PostgreSQL Developer with strong database development, data processing, and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and experience working with EDI, standardized file formats, file generation, and secure file transfers (SFTP).

Candidates with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and EDI will be preferred. Experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) is an advantage; however, candidates with strong SQL skills and relevant data integration experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, views, functions, and stored procedures.
- Work with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, to support data processing and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Work with EDI transactions, standardized file formats, and data exchange processes.
- Generate, transform, validate, and troubleshoot output files according to defined formats and business requirements.
- Manage and troubleshoot secure file transfers using SFTP.
- Investigate data discrepancies, processing failures, and production issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Monitor scheduled jobs and file-processing workflows to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Document technical processes, file specifications, database changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support production deployments, incident resolution, and ongoing process improvements.

Required Skills





- Solid hands-on SQL development experience, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or a strong background in SQL-based relational databases.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data validation.
- Experience with EDI, data integration, or structured data exchange processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of standardized file formats, output file generation, file transformation, and validation.
- General understanding of SFTP and secure file-transfer processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. The candidate must be able to clearly explain technical issues, coordinate with stakeholders, and understand business requirements.
- Ability to work independently on development, data processing, and production-support activities.

Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle).
- Experience developing and maintaining ETL workflows.
- Exposure to REST APIs and other data integration mechanisms.
- Knowledge of Python or shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong SQL developer with practical database development and troubleshooting experience.
- Candidates with PostgreSQL and EDI experience are preferred, even if they have not worked with Pentaho.
- Candidates with Pentaho experience and strong SQL skills are also suitable.
- Experience with file generation, standardized file formats, and SFTP-based data exchange is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
