Solutions Engineer - Unified Communications (UC)

Job Summary

Location - Bengaluru is the preferred location. However, if a suitable resource is not available there, other locations within India would also work. If we are able to get someone based in Bengaluru, a requirement of 2-3 days at the client location should be feasible.

There is a requirement on Unified communication SME/Solution Architect requirement for one of client for 5 months (Nov-Mar).

We are seeking a structured and execution-oriented Solutions Engineer (Unified Communications) to drive critical Microsoft Teams telephony initiatives and PSTN replacement projects. Working under the guidance of a Solution Architect, you will hands-on configure the clients Microsoft 365 tenant, manage multi-vendor migrations, and author technical project blueprints. This role requires a strong blend of technical execution, rigorous documentation, operational adherence to ITIL frameworks, and the ability to coordinate across diverse partner ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

- Teams Telephony Execution & PoC: Perform and validate Proof of Concept (PoC) designs for Microsoft Teams telephony in alignment with guidelines set by the Solution Architect.
- Tenant Configuration: Execute hands-on engineering, routing configuration, policy deployment, and system maintenance within the clients Microsoft Teams tenant.
- PSTN Replacement Management: Drive complex PSTN replacement projects, coordinating directly with external telecom operators and technology providers to ensure smooth service migration.
- Technical Documentation: Author High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and operational process documents,



and drive them through the approval cycle with the Solution Architect.
- ITIL Operations & Change Management: Own internal ITIL operational workflows. Prepare risk assessments, raise formal change requests, and present changes to the CAB (Change Advisory Board) for approval.
- Partner & Vendor Ecosystem Coordination: Represent the technical delivery team in multi-partner calls, contributing to technical triage and collaborating across vendors to smoothly execute deployment steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

- Microsoft Teams Voice: Deep hands-on experience administering M365 Admin Centers, Teams Phone routing, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and calling policies .
- PSTN & Telecom Migrations: Strong understanding of legacy-to-cloud PSTN migrations, SIP trunking, number porting workflows, and third-party carrier interfaces.
- Infrastructure Design Lifecycle: Experience transforming conceptual designs into structured HLD/LLD documentation including call-flow diagrams and network pathing.
- ITIL Practices: Solid understanding of ITIL framework principles , specifically incident, problem, and structured Change Management processes.

Collaboration & Operational Skills

- Proven ability to work interdependently under the direction of an architect while taking autonomous ownership of execution steps.
- Solid communication and technical negotiation skills to lead and contribute effectively during cross-vendor technical alignment calls.
- Rigorous attention to detail regarding change windows, rollback planning, and configuration validation.

Education & Experience Requirements

- Education: Bachelor s degree in IT, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience working on Microsoft Teams infrastructure, cloud telephony deployments, or network transition projects.
