Senior Test Engineer Web & API Testing

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer with strong expertise in web application testing and API testing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression, and system testing, along with proficiency in REST and SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of web applications and APIs by designing and executing comprehensive test scenarios, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Experience in test automation and CI/CD integration will be an added advantage.

Future Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform end-to-end functional, integration, regression, and system testing of web applications.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform REST API and Web API testing using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
- Validate API requests and responses, HTTP status codes, headers, authentication mechanisms, and error handling.
- Perform REST/JSON and SOAP/XML service testing.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers,



business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.
- Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, daily Scrum meetings, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Support release validation and production deployment verification.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, test coverage, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in web-based enterprise applications.
- Solid hands-on experience in web application testing.
- Hands-on experience in REST/Web API and SOAP API testing.
- Good working knowledge of Postman and SoapUI.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, and SOAP protocols.
- Experience in test case design, test execution, defect management, and regression testing.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have:

- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
- API automation experience using Postman/Newman
