Position: Senior Technical Writer

Purpose To help support our impressive growth, Kinective is seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Technical Writer to help us create clear, accurate, and useful product documentation for our customers, partners, and internal teams.

This position will work closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Support, and other cross-functional teams to document complex software products, communicate product changes, and ensure documentation is delivered as part of the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is an excellent English communicator who can turn technical information into content that is easy to understand and act on.

The successful candidate will also have experience using AI productivity tools to accelerate research, drafting, editing, content reuse, and documentation maintenance while applying strong judgment to validate accuracy, security, and confidentiality.

What you’re great at:

- Excellent written and verbal English, with strong command of grammar, structure, tone, and technical vocabulary
- Translating complex technical concepts into clear and useful content for technical and non-technical audiences
- Conducting interviews with engineers and subject-matter experts to gather and validate information
- Resourcefulness, accountability, attention to detail, and strong editorial judgment
- Working independently while collaborating effectively across Engineering and other teams
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Identifying documentation gaps and proactively improving content quality and discoverability
- Using AI productivity tools to improve the speed and scale of technical writing while fact-checking and refining the output

Necessary Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field
- 6+ years of experience in technical writing, software documentation, product documentation, developer documentation, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience creating documentation for software products,



platforms, APIs, integrations, or technical workflows
- Proven experience working directly with software engineering teams in an Agile or iterative development environment
- Strong experience creating and maintaining release notes, product documentation, technical reference material, and customer-facing communications
- Ability to understand product designs, technical requirements, workflows, and software behavior
- Experience using AI productivity tools for research, summarization, drafting, editing, content transformation, or consistency checks
- Ability to validate AI-assisted content for technical accuracy and avoid exposing confidential or sensitive information to unauthorized tools

Required skills: Must have applicable work experience, not solely academic

- 6+ years of industry experience in technical writing for software products
- 3+ years of industry experience collaborating with software engineering teams
- 3+ years of industry experience creating product documentation and release notes
- 2+ years of industry experience producing customer-facing technical communications
- 2+ years of experience using AI productivity tools in technical writing or knowledge-work workflows
- Experience managing documentation through reviews, approvals, versioning, and publication
- Experience working under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality

Preferred Skills:

- Documentation-as-code experience using Markdown, Git, GitLab, GitHub, or CI/CD workflows
- Confluence, Jira, knowledge bases, developer portals, or other documentation platforms
- Experience documenting REST APIs, SDKs, integrations, authentication, configuration, or cloud-based products
- Experience with structured authoring, content management systems, or documentation publishing workflows




- Familiarity with software development, testing, deployments, observability, and common engineering practices
- Experience creating documentation templates, style guides, terminology standards, or editorial processes • Experience supporting enterprise software, B2B products, financial technology, or products with multiple user personas
- Ability to create easy diagrams, workflow illustrations, or other visual explanations of technical concepts

What you’ll own:

- Create and maintain high-quality product documentation, including user guides, administrator guides, configuration instructions, API or integration documentation, troubleshooting content, and technical reference material
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Support, and customer-facing teams to understand product behavior and document it accurately
- Ensure documentation requirements are identified and delivered as part of the engineering release process
- Own release documentation, including release notes, feature announcements, upgrade guidance, known issues, limitations, and customer-impact summaries
- Prepare clear and professional customer communications for product changes, maintenance activities, deprecations, migrations, incidents, and other technical updates
- Review technical designs, requirements, tickets, and product changes to identify documentation needs early in the development lifecycle • Improve information architecture, content discoverability, versioning, and documentation reuse across products and teams
- Use AI productivity tools to accelerate content discovery, summarization, first-draft creation, editing, content transformation, and repetitive documentation tasks
- Review and fact-check AI-assisted output to ensure technical accuracy, appropriate tone, security, privacy, and compliance with company standards
- Track documentation work, dependencies, reviews, and publication readiness in coordination with the Engineering delivery workflow
- Ensure documentation is updated on an ongoing basis to reflect changes from new requirements, sprint deliverables, and product releases
