- 8+ years in software engineering with expertise in Python (FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic), Java (JDK 21+), distributed systems, relational databases at scale, cloud-native AWS/Kubernetes, event-driven architecture (Kafka), and API design

Role & responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end delivery of an area of the platform: design, build, test, deploy, operate.

- Design production-grade software in collaboration with the Engineering Manager & other seniors.

- Take critical technical decisions in your area & defend them with evidence.

- Lead code reviews, design reviews, & technical planning within your scope.

- Mentor mid-level & junior engineers on your team.

- Write clean, testable, well-documented code.

- Contribute to engineering standards & technical culture.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical must-have

- Eight or more years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering complex

distributed systems end to end.

- Solid hands-on Python (FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic) in production.

Strong

Java (JDK 21 or a recent LTS release).

- Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent) at scale: schema design, migrations,

partitioning, query performance.

- Cloud-native experience in production: AWS,



containers, Kubernetes, Helm.

- Event-driven architecture in production: Kafka (or equivalent), topic design, ordering, backpressure, schema

evolution.

- API design across REST, OpenAPI, & gRPC. Versioning & backward compatibility for external consumers.

- Modern engineering practices: CI/CD, code review, test automation, contract testing.

- OpenTelemetry or equivalent for observability across services (traces, metrics, logs).

- Strong problem-solving skills & clear written & verbal communication.

Nice to have

- Time-series data at scale (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, ClickHouse, or equivalent).

- Graph databases (Neo4j or equivalent), Cypher, graph algorithms, & topology projection from a relational source of

truth.

- Stream processing at scale (Flink or equivalent).

- Applied machine learning in production: PyTorch, sklearn, XGBoost, MLflow. Model serving, drift monitoring,

feedback loops.

- LLM application engineering: agentic AI, prompt orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, evaluation. Familiarity with

Model Context Protocol (MCP).

- Vector databases for retrieval & agentic memory.

- Frontend adjacency: React 19 with TypeScript 5 for real-time dashboards.

- Prior experience in telecom, network operations, OSS, NMS, or infrastructure software.

- Network protocols & telemetry: IS-IS, BGP, gNMI, NETCONF, OpenConfig, OpenROADM.
