Software Engineer III, Google Distributed Cloud Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting. 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of high-performance computing assets.

You will build and scale the systems that monitor hardware health, with a specific emphasis on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) diagnostics and infrastructure observability. Responsibilities Write product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Design and maintain scalable software solutions for real-time monitoring of server infrastructure and GPU health.

Develop and refine diagnostic suites to identify pre-failure indicators and performance bottlenecks in GPU clusters. Build and optimize high-cardinality monitoring pipelines, ensuring alerts are actionable and noise is minimized. Create automated recovery workflows to manage hardware faults without manual intervention.
